Nashville, Tenn. (August 21, 2013) - Electronic-pop duo Capital Kings (Cole Walowac and Jon White) has had quite the breakout year. Since releasing their debut record in January, the D.C. natives have toured across the country on the Pollstar named "Top 100 Tours" - Winter Jam, performed during the halftime show at a Oklahoma City Thunder (NBA) game, played their first international show in Trinidad and opened for the nationally embraced rock band, Neon Trees…to name a few. Adding to the year's accolades comes this morning's announcement for their first Dove Award Nomination in the top category of "New Artist of the Year." Recent winners for the esteemed award include label mate Jamie Grace, multi-award winner Chris August and GRAMMY®-nominated artist Brandon Heath. Among this year's elite artists up for the award, Capital Kings is the only nomination from an independent boutique record label (Gotee Records).

Cole and Jon were on their way back to Nashville from their hometown when they heard about the nomination. "We've always dreamed of winning a Dove Award!" says Cole. "To be able to have this amazing opportunity our first year and among so many of our talented peers is such a blessing!"

The 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 8:30 p.m. EST with red carpet reception ceremonies starting at 6:30 p.m. EST at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The evening will be full of rare and exciting performances showcasing the genre's hottest, most diverse artists and televised live nationwide exclusively on UP TV. Tickets to the 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards are now on sale at the Allen Arena box office in Nashville or at www.ticketsnashville.com. Ticket prices range from $15.00 to $200.00.

Beginning this fall, Capital Kings will join six-time GRAMMY® award winner TobyMac on his "Hits Deep Tour." The hugely successful tour will include an all-star lineup with acts Brandon Heath, Mandisa, Jamie Grace, Colton Dixon and Chris August.

Capital Kings is currently putting on a remix competition for their fans called U:REMIX. Fans can download a track from their new album and compete to create the best original remix. The contest is currently in the second round and the winner will receive a pair of custom Capital Kings Black & Gold Nike Air Force 1 High iD* kicks, a Facebook post from Capital Kings to the winning remix and a congratulatory tweet from Capital Kings, TobyMac and Gotee Records with a link to the remix.
